#40 – Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus (2005) – A Measure of Bees

Posted on

Ben and Molly don their 3-D glasses and step into the low-poly world of the extremely cursed Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus (2005). Ben struggles with an embarrassing plosive problem. Molly finally has an excuse to trot out her encyclopedic figure skating knowledge.

COMPETITION TIME! Win a signed Barbie doll, or possibly a Trolls toy!

If you’ve listened to this week’s episode of the show, you’ll already know that we’re celebrating our one-year anniversary with a competition! If you want to win one of the prizes we picked out in this video, here’s what you have to do:

  • Go onto the iTunes / Apple Podcasts entry for The Life Toyetic with Ben and Molly and leave a review.
  • Once you’ve received confirmation that your review has been posted, email a screenshot of the review to show@thelifetoyetic.com. (DON’T send a screenshot of the review form itself – we need confirmation that the review has been approved and posted to iTunes first!)
  • We will read every review of the podcast sent to us up until February 22nd. The best reviews will receive one of the prizes picked out in the video. We’ll even sign the boxes for the Barbies, too!

This competition is open to everybody, whether they’re a Patron or not. It’s also open to everybody internationally – if you live outside the US and you win, we’ll figure out how to get your prize to you.

Thanks for listening, and good luck!

#37 – G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2009) – Gastrointestinal Joseph

Posted on

Ben and Molly go looking for a fun action adventure in GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2009), but instead spend several hours haplessly flailing in a cesspool of toxic masculinity. Ben struggles to process a deep and personal betrayal. Molly goes full Noam Chomsky in defense of one of her favorite languages.

A Schedule Change

Posted on

We’re temporarily shifting the podcast to a biweekly/fortnightly schedule for the time being. This is so we can accommodate other projects and commitments we have. We don’t plan for the change to be permanent, and as soon as we can get back to weekly episodes we’ll be doing that. THe next episode will be going up on January 22nd – coincidentally, our one-year anniversary. Thanks for bearing with us!

In the meantime, if you absolutely need to hear Ben’s voice in a podcast this week, The Game of Rassilon launches on Wednesday, January 16th! An actual-play podcast featuring funny people playing the Doctor Who Roleplaying Game, the show follows the adventures of a brand-new Doctor and her companions as they embark on unique adventures, one roll at a time. You can find the show at TheGameOfRassilon.com.
